Our 50th Wedding Anniversary

September 2nd 1967 Dave and I walked down the isle and I can't believe that in just a few days we will have been married 50 YEARS!

It has been an amazing time being married to this wonderful man.  He is patient beyond belief, caring and full of love.

During our 50 years together, we had two children, our daughter Amy and our son Aaron, who seem to have inherited the best of both of us and they in turn have given us 5 beautiful grandchildren.  Maggie (just off to college), Luke, Ella, Aidan and Ava.

Dave and I are taking a driving trip to Monterey and Carmel California, which is where we honeymooned 50 years ago.  Bet we notice a few changes since then.

This is the card I made for Dave, I hope he likes it (except for the fancy font I used to create the verse for the card front, he does not like "fancy fonts"), he is an engineer he says and we don't use Fancy Fonts...to hard to read.  Think I will print out the verse in Calibri and hand it to him at dinner along with the card!!!

Alana's Birthday

Tomorrow is my beautiful daughter-in-laws birthday.  We are so lucky to have her in our lives.  My son chose well!

I think I am craving blue ocean waters because this card and the last one I made definitely have all the colors of the sea.

Alana's card is mostly digitally put together with several watercolor lily pad images, but I did use the clear Wink of Stella and the Sakura Stardust Meteor Gelly Roll pens (the blue one) to highlight the birthday sentiment I made in one of my favorite "dramatic" fonts, "Before the Rain".  The pretty glittery effect on the card isn't showing up in the picture though.

I backed the front panel with a coordinating paper and with pop dots adhered that panel to the card front.

Happy Birthday Alana Marie!!

My Mother's 91st Birthday!

Well I haven’t posted as you can see in a very long time, but today I have a special reason.

It’s the occasion of my Mother’s 91st Birthday.

I am her first born, so it’s not just that I am more than a little biased, and I am, but she has been and is a wonderful role model, full of love and support, not just for me but every member of the family.  She makes us all feel special and very much loved.

And to this day, she still “makes” each of us a homemade greeting card for every occasion throughout the year.  She always has the last word when we are saying goodbye, and it's always like this:  "I love you mama", to which she replies, "I love you more".  Every time.

So this card is for her.

Happy 91st Birthday Mama, we love you more than you’ll ever know.

This is her card…
